Hello, all! My name is Kyle Garrett. I am grateful that you are even reading this!

About me. I am a high school grad who has also been a musician for 15 years and would like to pursue guitar as a career. I plan on attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood, but that will not be for a while. I am also a big Sonic the Hedgehog and Metroid nerd.

I only write instrumentals for three reasons: One, I am horrible with lyrics. Two, I am not much of a singer, even though I sing in my band. And three, instrumental songs allows people to use their imagination and come up with a story or meaning to the song.

I like to think of my music as a bridge across genres. I have a big influence in Progressive music, such as Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater, but I also have many other influences. Everything from Technical Metal, like Periphery, to space rock, like Hum, to the "odd balls" such as Imogen Heap and Jaco Pastorius.

As an independent musician, I need all the help I can get. If you like what you hear, or even if you don't, please let me know! I will answer anyone who wants to talk. Also, please tell your friends, or even just post a link to this deviantART account on Facebook.

Nice, well if ya ever need a collaborator that can play drums and kinda sing as well, I'm your guy!

How long have you played? I've been playing drums for about 5 years and I started learning guitar off and on about 2 years ago. I'm also a former band geek, when I was in high school I played the sax.

I started with piano lessons about 13 years ago. Gave it up for trumpet for a few years, then bass for about 8 years. I've been seriously playing guitar for about 6 years now. I grew up with a drum set in the house (my dad is a band director and drummer, and my brother is a drummer) so I can work my way around a kit to come up with ideas or to show the drummer for my band something. I've never really been into singing, but I sing in my band along with our bassist because we can't find a good singer.
